It may seem as if summer will be an eternity ... but plans are under way for the social events of the season! We are trying very hard to make Swim & Racquet "the place" to be this summer and can't wait to see everyone at the pool and tennis courts. The festivities at the club will begin with Family Fun Night and June Jam and wind down at the end of the summer with Family Carnival Night and the End of Summer Bash, with lots and lots of fun activities in between. Please check the social page on www.swimandracquet.com for a complete list of all activities and dates. And be sure to mark your calendars!

Meanwhile, don't forget the Easter Egg hunt on Sunday April 5 and the Cinco de Mayo celebration on Friday May 1. As always it would be very much appreciated if we could get the RSVP's to all events as quickly as possible. This allows us to plan the parties more efficiently and keep the cost down for all our members.

Swim 2009

We are excited for another energized Swim Team season at Swim & Racquet. The swim committee is actively conducting a search for our next Swim Coach and we are accepting your suggestions for candidates. If you have a potential person that you would like us to consider, please contact Chip Smith at chip.omni@wowway.com today.

We also wanted to highlight that Swim & Racquet is hosting the championships on Monday, July 13th this year as noted in the preliminary swim schedule. This is a major undertaking for our club, and we are going to need to ask for a lot of volunteers to help spruce up the place over the next few months, as well as be involved in the planning to make it a success. So stay tuned …

Planning a party?

As a Swim & Racquet member, plan your next event in this beautifully renovated space. The cost is minimal — $300.00 with a security deposit of $200.00 for ANY type of function — not just family events. Non-members can use the facility for $500.00, with a security deposit of $300.00. Remember, you can:

• Bring in your own adult beverages at no extra charge. The redesigned wet bar is complete with mini fridge and microwave.
• The kitchen is available for the caterer of your choice but we will reduce the rental fee if you use our preferred caterer — Preston Catering, LLC.

For a glimpse of the scrumptious items Preston catering can create, owners Evan and Sue Preston put together the following menus.

Have you ever considered advertising your business through Swim & Racquet?

We are looking into the possibility of including business advertisements in the membership directory for 2009. Cost would depend on size of ad desired, but the impact could be immediate with a captive audience of approximately 500.
