Ron “officially” retired January 1st of this year. He has served Swim & Racquet in various roles over the past 10 years. Ron has agreed to continue to assist with club operations while also helping to transition a new general manager. The Board Interviewed several qualified candidates during a two month search process, and we are pleased to introduce Mr. Tim Casey as the new general manager, beginning April 1, 2010. Tim is currently a Health and Physical Education teacher at Jones Middle School. Along with his teaching duties, he is also the Head Boy's Basketball Coach @ UAHS. At the end of this school year he will have completed his 22nd year in public education and 25th year in the coaching profession. He spent 4 years as a college assistant and this is his 22nd year as a head high school coach. Tim grew up in Upper Arlington and is a 1981 graduate of Upper Arlington High School. Tim currently resides in Upper Arlington with his wife of 25 years, Shelly, and their six children, Kelsey, Colin, Connor, Carter, Kileigh, and Callahan. Tim is extremely excited about the opportunity to serve the members of the Swim & Racquet Club. He is committed to making a positive contribution to Swim & Racquet. He is looking forward to meeting all the members throughout the spring and summer seasons. We are also pleased to announce the hiring of a new swim coach. Mrs. Barb Smith will be leading our swim program this year. Barb was a member of Swim & Racquet during the 1960’s and 1970’s, where she began her life-long love of swimming. She currently is a coach with the Upper Arlington Swim Club and has further background in Early Childhood Education. Her experience includes being affiliated with the First Community Church Early Childhood Department for over 25 years. Barb is married, with three children, all who have been or currently are competitive swimmers. She is looking forward to a great summer season with Swim & Racquet.
